An experiential service learning tour designed to enhance critical thinking skills, communication, collaboration and creativity.
Students will be inspired to roll up their sleeves and experience the joy of giving back.
Your tour begins when your flight arrives at Manila
Airport. Cultural Welcome and Dinner.
8:30AM Take a jeepney to experience authentic
church service. In the afternoon, we will visit
MZCF slum ministry for feeding project.
Evening meal with Slum Ministry Leaders.
6AM Early Morning Van to Gawad Kalinga (GK)
Enchanted Farm. GK is transforming over 3000
Filipino communities. We will see 1st hand how they
are using social enterprise to provide scholarships
and job creation. Enjoy social enterprise
demonstrations and locally grown food.
6AM Early morning farming activity followed by
delicious breakfast. We will engage with GK locals and
be inspired by stories of transformation. GK workers will
help us process our learning. 1PM Leave Enchanted
Farm for GK Village. Journey to our GK Village to
commence Heroes House Build cultural immersion.
Settle in with hosts and cultural welcome.
6AM Early morning start to beat the heat. GK has a
unique way to build peaceful communities. They invite
locals from slum areas to give 1600 hrs of manual
labour in exchange for a house. We will do 2 x 2 hour
shifts per day. After locally prepared lunch we will cool
down in nearby pool. Afternoon “Palarong Pinoy” Play
games with village children. Evening dinner in GK
village .
6AM HouseBuild program 2 x 2 hours shifts plus
breakfast. After locally prepared lunch, there is a
special surprise, Bayanihan “Amazing Race” around
Village.Evening Cultural Show to say goodbye to GK
village.
We fly to Puerto Princesa and start our R and R with a city tour showcasing crocodile farm, shopping and cultural show.
The Underground River Cave was awarded UNESCO’s New Wonder of The World and is a day showcasing the stunning beauty of the Philippines islands
Today we relax and take boat rides out to the Honda Bay islands, snorkelling and enjoying a buffet lunch.
Full of beautiful memories, we fly back to Manila to take us home.
