Tour 1 Manila Culture and Shopping Tour
10:30AM Enjoy a sleep in and lazy morning and we will pick you up from your hotel. We head to Intramuros via Makati Financial District. 90% of Philippines GDP comes from this region. Experience the chaos of Divisoria Flea Market and 168 Shopping Mall. Located in Binondo, the oldest Chinatown in the world outside of China. Grab a bargain as you will find everything under the sun for sale! Robinsons Mall is nearby too for more conventional shopping.
After lunch we take a short ride to Intramuros (Spanish WalledCity) to understand Jose Rizal’s struggle to liberate his people from 333 years of Spanish rule. We walk inside Fort Santiago and visit the Rizal Shrine to appreciate the Filipino hero’s legacy. Be fascinated by the beauty of San Agustin Church, the only Intramuros building left standing after WW2. It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the oldest stone church in the Philippines. The church is known for its intricate 3D-style painted ceiling, baroque architecture and ornamental decor.
At 6pm we dine at Barbara’s buffet restaurant right in the heart of the Intramuros. Be transported into traditional Filipino 18th Century “Illustrado” with crystal chandaliers and beautiful furniture. Taste sumptuous authentic cuisine as you watch traditional dance and folk songs. Try your hand at “Tinkling” the National Philippine Dance. At 9pm we leave for your hotel full of beautiful memories.
